چکیده
Ferrite films of ptt~.ittm-iron-game (YE) are perfect candidates for various applications in microwave and infrared frequency range. 'l3e theoretical and experimental results of ititense study of interaction of spin waves with light in such films are reviewed and practical applications are presented. Along wiUi traditional methods of magneto-optic -spin wave interaction Uie aovel methods including non-linear waves are considered. Traditional devices include frequency shifiers, scanners, modulators, but a new class of non-linear devices is suggested and practical recommendations are provided.

Having precise hysterics loop of thin ferroelectric and ferromagnetic layers for optical switching and optical storages are important. A hysterieses loop can be achieved from a phenomenon call the magneto-optic effect. The magneto-optic effect is the rotation of a linear polarized electromagnetic wave propagated through a ferromagnetic medium. When light is transmitted through a layer of magnet...
متن کاملStudy of Magneto Optic Sensor Using Tdg Element
The magneto optic sensor is very fast (at the speed of light), sensitive, non-contact and EMI (electromagnetic interference) proof in operation. It senses magnetic flux density by rotating the plane of polarization of the incident beam of light passing through it based on Faraday Effect. The amount of rotation depends on the property (Verdet Constant) of the magneto-optic element and the magnet...
متن کاملHigh-resolution magneto-optic measurements with a Sagnac interferometer (invited)
A technique for measuring the Faraday effect and the magneto-optic Kerr effect has been developed. In a Sagnac interferometer, two optical beams follow identical paths in opposite directions. Effects which break time-reversal symmetry, such as magneto-optic effects, will cause destructive interference between the two beams. By measuring the phase shift between circular polarization states refle...
متن کاملFiber - Optic Sensing of Linear Thermal Expansion (RESEARCH NOTES)
The use of a LED fiber-optic sensor to measure displacement and linear thermal expansion is described. It has a sensitivity of about 0.6 mV/mm, a resolution of 1.25 mm, and a dynamic rang of 400 mm for displacement measurements. For thermal expansion, it shows a sensitivity of about 3.5 mV/C, and the experimental linear expansion values are in agreement with those calculated. The reported senso...
